Last year I went to La Union (Elyu) to celebrate my birthday and one of the things I was looking forward to was staying at Vessel hostel. I came upon the hostel I think last year when scrolling thru Instagram. Checking out the photos, I knew I had to book a stay there in the future if I get the chance to visit La Union again. Not everyone I knew wanted to stay in a hostel so when Geneille, my friend is up for it, I immediately made a reservation online which was a breeze by the way.
I like the idea of the hostel. It’s actually a stack of repurposed shipping containers but it doesn’t feel like you’re in a container literally. It feels homey, warm, and a place where you can relax and unwind. The design is modern, minimal, with a touch of classic vibe. It’s peaceful and quiet well maybe because we went there on a Monday.
The location is perfect. Distant enough from the happenings but close enough to the beach and food joints. Funny how we walked passed by it after arriving because we’re trying to locate it. It’s just across the Los Banditos but you have to walk through trees and bushes to see it.
Here’s an e-tour:
What I love:
The hostel is clean even the shower and the bathroom
Warm and nice staff
Nice view of the beach from our room
What I don’t love:
While the bathroom is clean, it’s a tad small
