I used to love wearing girly-kind of skirts back when I was little but then stopped. When I went to Singapore last 2017 with the fam, I went on a shopping spree with my mom in Bugis and bought this pleated skirt for I think 10 SGD only.
It took a few convincing from my mom until I finally gave in.
I wanted to wear it on my Taiwan trip but never managed to style it and decided with another outfit. It stayed inside the closet for almost a year. Bummer, I know! I do not want to waste the money I spent with this pretty little thing, so I came up with 3 styles to wear it.
I wanted to go for a romantic style. Perfect for a date I guess. Not too formal though not too casual.
I considered the length of the skirt with this one. It’s a bit long for someone who’s only 5’2. I am thinking of having it cut so I wouldn’t look too small while wearing it. I choose a cropped sweater for the top to balance the outfit.
To make me look taller, I used these white mules which are on heavy rotation on my wardrobe for a few months now.
A small blue pastel sling bag to complement the top and bottom.
Finished it with face earrings (which I got from a bazaar for 100 Php only)
Wearing : Cropped sweater from Landmark, SM Parisian bag, Sunnies Studios sunglasses in Laguna style, White mules from Stradivarius
LOOK 2 – TEE + SNEAKS
I mean who doesn’t love sneakers and tees? They’re one of the most comfortable items you want to wear on lazy days, right and there are a plethora of ways on how to wear and style them.
I paired it with a tee shirt with slightly longer sleeves. I want to wear a longer one but I do not have one in black or white so this shirt from The Hows Of Us movie will do.
To elevate the outfit a bit more, I used a gold chained bag and dark-colored lippies.
Wearing: Stan Smith from ADIDAS, Gold-chained bag from Stradivarius, The Hows of Us Tee from (you can get from ABS-CBN Studio experience), Sunglasses from Sunnies Studios in Maru
LOOK 3 – OVERSIZED DENIM JACKET + FLATS
This is the most casual among the three perfect for when you do not have time. I injected some pink tones to make it fancier and not “too casual”
To make it more chic, I decided to wear a silk top. It’s a perfect combo for the pleated skirt with almost the same texture.
Instead of the usual, I went with this bucket bag. Any geometrically shaped bag will do, I guess so as not make it boring.
I layered it with a dark washed oversized denim jacket to give dimension.
Last but not the least, instead of wearing earrings which I would normally do, I settled with a pendant necklace.
Wearing : Poppy Bag from Zalora (Blanc and Eclare by Jessica Jung for Zalora in Nude), Denim Jacket from Forme, Pendant necklace from First Love, Flats from Solemate (available in all SM Department stores)
Do you have any items in your closet you don’t get to wear often?
