This plaid pants are everyone’s favorite. I wore this first when I was in Taiwan and got a lot of questions about where I got it. Truth be told, I just bought it from a thrift store in Anonas for 150 Php. Yas, you read it right 150 (freakin’) Philippine Pesos. The top and denim jacket were also thrifted. The pants are actually a tad big (Medium) but since my bum’s a bit ya know, it kinda fit somehow. I like that it’s not super tight, so deal.
Thrift shopping is one of the things I’d like to do once in a while. I do not have the time just like when I was in college so whenever I visit, I make sure I make the most out of it and spend my budget wisely.
Below are some of the tips you can take note of on your next trip to a thrift store. Good luck, girl! x
1 Go for the racks with the lowest prices – When I went to Anonas Ukay-Ukay, some of the racks with cheaper prices are separated from the “new arrivals”. New Arrivals usually you want to stir clear from as they are currently not budget friendly and would cost you about a hundred or so.
PS Anonas Ukay-Ukay is one of the best stores to score some really amazing outfits for less than a hundred bucks. 20-30 Php tops? Count me in!
2 Bring a big bag (let’s beenvironmental–friendly) – Eco bag so you don’t get to use a plastic.
3 Take time to sort thru the racks if you can (one by one if you have the whole day LOL) Or if you have any piece of clothing in mind then go that specific rack.
Tip:I already list down or make a mental note of what I want to find in a thrift store so I can narrow down which rack to check and not
4 Hunt for unique pieces – Take this plaid pants I purchased. it’s not the typical design I would buy in a retail store or in a mall but it’s so unique that I had to get it.
5 If you can, know when the thrift store will have a sale. Imagine your 500 Php, you’ll have plenty of items to buy.
6 Details, details, details – Check the quality before your rush to the counter. Check for any holes, missing buttons and if you think you can DIY, then off you go.
