Last year, I decided to go for a 24 hour trip to Singapore. It was a spur-of-the- moment-thing-but-one-of-the-highlights-of-my-2018.
So why go to Singapore?I attended LEE SEUNG GI’S FAN MEETING OMFG
I wasn’t supposed to visit Singapore last year but because it’s LEE SEUNG GI, I had to!LOL
Considering that this is my first time to attend a fan meet, I didn’t know what to expect so i decided not to spend so much on it and just get the 142 SGD or Php 5,400 ticket which is the cheapest.
Now why did I only stayed for 24 hours? This trip is not part of my 2018 travel fund so it’s an extra expense. Good thing I was able to budget my money from my Bali trip that I had extra money for this! I knew I had to save and not splurge on something that is unplanned. If I stayed there for more than a day, I would end up spending more, so…1 day it is!
Thru this post, I will also share to you a guide to a 24 Hour to Singapore that you might want to do if you found yourself in the country. Here goes:
Crazy as it sounds, this was the first time I have tried the traditional Singapore breakfast and I regret not having it before. I searched for the best ones around Chinatown and found Nanyang Old Coffee. The place usually gets crowded by late morning so better go there by 8 or 9 am which I did.
I got the Kaya butter toast, half-boiled eggs, and opted for an iced coffee instead of hot. The bread was crunchy and I love the taste of the butter. I think it would’ve been perfect with hot coffee but it was so humid at the time that’s why I got the iced version.
I saw this from one of the posts from the bloggers I follow and as a book lover, I knew I had to go here the next time I visit.
Traveling solo has a catch! I had no one to take photos of me here so timer and bookshelves to the rescue! LOL
It was pretty much instagrammable spot but be mindful to be quiet as it still is a library.
LATE LUNCH:Amoy Street Food Centre
HONG KEE BEEF NOODLE (1st floor)
Eating in a hawker center is always a must. This was my first time going here and I was disappointed when I arrived and the stalls that were on my list were already closed. I had no choice but to eat a so-so meal at random stalls. So, just a tip, if you want to catch these stalls open come earlier than 2 pm or better yet check their business hours.
AFTERNOON: Jurong East Malls
(Before the fan meeting event which is at 7pm. The door opens at 6pm)
Zepp at Big box, the fan meet venue is located at Jurong East so I decided to be there by afternoon so I have time to explore the malls around and be familiar with the place before the event because I can’t afford to be late.
Stepping outside of the platform of Jurong East station and making my way to the malls was overwhelming. I had 3 hours to spare before the event so I went mall hopping to 4 huge malls around the area with that time.
There’s also JCube but I wasn’t able to go there because my feet is killing me! HA!
I was really looking forward to checking out IMM the most. It’s an outlet mall so all the items there are on sale. It was so hard to resist not buying bags or shoes. It was such a struggle! Good thing there was Cotton On and I was able to buy a dress for 7 SGD only. Steal! That was my only purchase aside from the food. I was so proud of myself after the trip! LOL
DINNER: In and Out Cafe
I love the ambiance of this cafe. They offer affordable western and Asian food. I had an early dinner, got the chicken burger with fries. Did not have time to take a photo because I only a few minutes to go up the concert hall.
The event lasted for 2 hours and I immediately went back to the airport to catch my 2 am flight back to Manila. It was very convenient 45-minute MTR ride from Jurong to Changi airport terminal 1. My first time in terminal 1 and I can say Singapore really has undeniably one of the best airport. Trust me you’ll enjoy it for sure!
That is it for now! I might come back to Singapore this year which will mark as my 5th! Fingers are crossed. See you next time, Singapore!
