I have been keeping tabs and I’ve been invited to a wedding since the start of the year. As a wedding guest, I do not want to splurge so much but then I still want to look decent and wedding appropriate. My go-to shop is Zalora. They often have sales and discounts so I always check there first before I go somewhere else. And for someone who is sometimes a bit lazy to go out and go to a mall, this is the perfect thing to do.
I always stay close to the dress code or theme. I do not know you but when it comes to attending a wedding, I make sure to follow what the couple wants you to wear especially if they’re too specific. It’s an eyesore when you expect your guests to wear pastel but you see someone wearing neon.
The footwear of choice should always be HEELS. As much as I’d like to, I tend to shy away from wearing 4 or 5-inch heels that I could only wear once and would always leave me in pain no matter what I do to my feet. My go-to choice now is blocked heels and they’re perfect.
If I wear something plain, I made sure to dress it up with a clutch or bag. It’s always a scene stealer.
Let’s take a look at the three outfits I wore this year to the three weddings I’ve attended (so far)
LOOK 1 – PRETTY IN PASTEL
Zalora Pleated dress
A dress is always the first choice, right? I actually wore this last year for a wedding as well (yup, recycling outfits DUH). I just styled it in a different way.
Two things that made me purchase this, aside from it being only 800 Php.
The Pleated design – It elevated the dress and does not hug the body so much which I liked.
It came with a belt that you can style in 2-3 different ways.
The length falls just below the knee.
Wear the belt around the waist or tie it as a scarf
I used a pastel colored bag but in a different color. I choose this powder blue from SM Parisian
Block heels in nude with suede texture.
LOOK 2 – BLACK JUMPSUIT AND A COAT
H&M Blazer | Zalora Jumpsuit
A jumpsuit in black for a wedding? I am in. My friend and colleague, Lexi’s dress code is in black and white. It’s the perfect event to wear a black jumpsuit. I think it’s sexy with just minimal styling. You can never go wrong in black.
Oversized hoop earrings are the only accessory I added.
A statement coat still in black with white and gold embroidery completely elevated the whole outfit.
I used a clutch bag in white with metal handle
A closed blocked heel in nude and suede again. I kept this one simple because my core is the coat.
Here’s a tip, if you can buy something that you can also wear in different occasion, then it’s worth it well unless you have no other choice. Ya know what I mean?
I try to purchase clothes that I can wear more than once or twice. I do not want to have something that can get stuck in the closet after 1 use. It’s a total waste for me.
For the third look, the dress code color is navy blue, mustard, and white and for the gents, it’d be a tie. It said only cocktail dress so I was able to narrow down the choices and not to pick something so fancy but can still work as a wedding guest.
I purchased this one online and It took me a while before finally going with it.
– I paired the jumpsuit with chunky gold earrings to elevate it.
– Either blocked heels or stilettos were my two choices until I saw this open back white pointed mules on sale at Stradivarius. I knew this was the one I am going to pair it with.
Come to think of it, this pair also will go well with the first two outfits, right? Steal!
– I am just commuting and did not have someone where I can leave my things inside a car so I opted to bring with me a larger bag in green where I also put my camera and an umbrella (It was gloomy the whole day and rained twice during the ceremony and the wedding)
If I were to choose another bag, I’d prefer a white clutch.
– It can be chilly inside the reception so I bought a cropped pink biker jacket to complete the whole outfit.
